Fallen by mamishka and its sequel Invisible Bonds are rather well known in Sherlock fanfiction circles,
but if you are new to this fandom you might have missed all the buzz; also there are stories that need to be included in every Sherlock fanfiction recommendation list, and Fallen to me is one of those stories.
In a world where myth, mystery, and the supernatural flourish beneath the veneer of modern civilization, Sherlock is a master of magic as well as science and deduction. But there are some things that he cannot see, riddles he cannot unravel, even when they walk right beside him in the form of one John Watson…
The story is extremely well written, it’s detailed, descriptive but also captivating.
It starts with John being Sherlock’s guardian angel, white wings and all that. The idea seems too far fetched at the beginning but the author has put in a lot of details to makes readers more comfortable with this universe; explaining what the rules are, where the limits are, what beings exist and so on, with all the information merged expertly with the story.
The storyline loosely follows the canon episodes, but there’s enough difference that you won’t lose interest. In fact the story is so detailed that after 150K words, we are only two episodes in the series. Lets hope mamishka writes more in this verse! :-)
If you like Sherlock and you like fantasy, this is a must read!
